Chief Science Officers

Lorena Dominey recognized Mya Lark and Preston Fields from Browning-Pearce Elementary and Sofia Jolley and Aiden Stewart from Q.I.Roberts Jr. Sr. High School, both of these sets of students are the Chief Science Officers for the STEM program in their schools. Chief Officers serve as STEM ambassadors, amplify the students' voices, and are advocates for innovation in communities. Every elementary school and all of the  junior-senior high schools did a STEM project; This has helped our students to become innovative and excited about STEM. Putnam County's STEM is one of the strongest in the state, with special thanks to Dr. Rick Surrency and the Putnam County School Board for funding and supporting our STEM program. Student CSO are 6th to 12 grade, STEM teachers mentor CSO's at every school, PCSD Federal Programs and the STEM2 Hub brought the CSO program to Florida in 2018, CSO are student Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) leaders.
